Who runs this
brandmybackground is an independent marketplace operated by Valentin Chmara in France. It connects people selling placements on their meeting backgrounds with brands that want to sponsor them.

How the service works
Sellers create a public profile and define sponsorship spots. brandmybackground reviews sellers before publication. The homepage shows up to six approved profiles, ordered by their latest update; nobody can pay for a higher ranking.
Buyers choose a spot and submit a bid through Stripe. A successful higher bid replaces the current sponsor. If two payments race and a bid is already stale when confirmed, it is refunded automatically. Payment processing and seller payouts are provided by Stripe and remain subject to Stripe's own terms.
Sellers are responsible for their profiles, backgrounds and placement commitments. Buyers are responsible for their brand names, logos, links and their right to use them. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement to use payment features.
Keep it legitimate
Do not upload unlawful, deceptive, infringing, hateful, explicit or harmful content, interfere with the service, or impersonate someone else. brandmybackground may reject, unpublish or remove content and may restrict accounts when needed to protect users, comply with the law or keep the marketplace trustworthy.
The service is provided as available. Features may change while the product evolves. Nothing here limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be limited. These terms are governed by French law, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you.
Your data, in plain language
brandmybackground processes account details received through Google sign-in, public profile and background content, seller payment status, bids, sponsor assets and basic cookieless audience measurements. This data is used to provide the marketplace, process transactions, prevent abuse, support users and understand aggregate product usage.
Processing is based on providing the service you request, legal obligations and legitimate interests in security and product improvement. Supabase provides authentication, database and file storage; Stripe handles payments and payouts; DataFast provides cookieless analytics. These providers process data under their own privacy terms and may use infrastructure outside the European Economic Area with applicable safeguards.
Account and marketplace data is kept while it is needed to operate the service. Transaction, fraud-prevention and compliance records may be retained longer when the law or a legitimate claim requires it. Public profile and sponsor content is visible to anyone until it is removed.
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability where applicable by contacting @vachmara. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, including the CNIL in France.
